Lonely Planet review

A convenient location near central Yangon’s attractions, restaurants and internet shops, and exceedingly tidy rooms with friendly and confident service make this one of the better budget choices in central Yangon. The cheapest rooms don’t have windows while the more expensive front-side rooms boast heaps of natural light, so depending on your budget, look at a few.

Our independent authors have visited Beautyland Hotel II and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Yangon (Rangoon).

Traveler review from TripAdvisor

OK, it's not the flashest hotel in Yangon, but for the money it gets my vote. The people that run this place are insanely helpful, friendly, genuine......I could go on. Our room didn't have a window, but that was our choice as we had a range of rooms presented to us at different price points. Electricity is dodgy as all hell in Burma, but this hotel has a very reliable generator so we were never without A/C (thankfully, as it was very hot). The breakfast was unsurpassable - possibly the best we've ever had. The owner and his staff take extremely good care of this place and your needs as a visitor to their country seem to come before anything else. We were totally overwhelmed by their hospitality and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to truly connect with their host. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to anything you want to see (except Shwedaggon Pagoda, easy taxi ride though) and we ended up staying here twice - once at the beginning and one at the end of our trip to Burma. I can see why it's called Beautyland - I mean it's not aesthetically beautiful but the people in this place are nothing short of beautiful.

Review from igougo

This is a justifiably popular guesthouse located in the heart of Yangon with air-conditioned rooms, a shower, a TV, and breakfast for $12. The very helpful staff will pick you up at the airport if you're arriving on an international flight, saving you the $5 taxi fare.

Another Review from igougo

The best budget option in Yangon by a long way, this centrally-located, clean, and well-managed hotel has yet to find its way into the guide books. Economy fan rooms on the roof with shared WC cost US$5 without breakfast, US$6 with. There are a variety of fan and A/C rooms to choose from, all about US$5-8 per person. Fan-cooled rooms are probably the best bet as the numerous power cuts in Yangon mean there's sometimes not enough power from the generators to run the A/C units. The staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful, and there's a small restaurant on the ground floor near a comfortable sitting area. The hotel also changes money and books bus, train, and boat tickets.
